What's not to like. We were in a bind - our wedding was in a week and it seemed impossible to rent coffee urns for less than we could buy them. Seriously, use a coarse ground coffee (I used Community Coffee Medium Roast) and good clean water and you will have great results. After reading encouraging reviews here, I bought two of these urns. First, they make a fantastic cup of coffee, work very simply, are easy to clean, are really inexpensive, and are MADE IN THE USA. The only tiny complaint I have is that it could come with a longer power cord. The one supplied with the unit is like 18", so plan on having an extension cord nearby if you are using this at an event.
I've used this product for two fundraising events so far and it has surpassed my expectations. It's easy to use and produces quality coffee.
The cost was ok. We purchased the West Bend 58002 to make coffee for a program of adults that averages 15-25 people per day. We really didn't like the plastic filter cup but were unaware that is was not a metal filter when we bought it. This coffee maker provides good tasting coffee for the individuals and brews in a timely manner. Cleaning the coffee maker at the end of the day is easy. We also would have preferred a coffee maker with an on/off switch, rather than just plugging and unplugging it for power. Overall, it does a good job for our needs and we would recommend it to others.
The West Bend coffee maker is excellant. Makes 42 cups in about 30 min. A lot better then the GE makers we have. They take about 1 1/2 hours to complete.
The coffee pot works great and came very quickly. Price was the best we found anywhere.
